FSSAI Central License

For large-scale, import/export, e-commerce or multi-state food businesses. We handle the full Central License application with nationwide validity.

Overview

The FSSAI Central License is for large-scale food businesses and is issued by the Central Government with nationwide validity. You need it if your annual turnover exceeds ₹20 crore, or — regardless of turnover — if you import or export food, sell through e-commerce, or operate across multiple states (the head office needs a Central License).

It also applies to operators at ports, airports and certain central agencies. Filed against Form B, it carries the highest compliance requirements. GovYapar manages the entire application so your large or expanding food business is properly licensed.

FAQs

Common questions

Large businesses (turnover above ₹20 crore), and any business that imports/exports food, sells via e-commerce, or operates in multiple states — regardless of turnover.

Generally yes — e-commerce food operators typically require a Central License. We confirm and file it.

The head office needs a Central License, and each unit needs its own license (Central or State) based on its turnover and capacity. We map this for you.

FSSAI norms are periodically revised. The turnover bands here reflect the widely-applied rules, but we always confirm the current applicable category and validity for your business before filing — so you’re never mis-registered.
